The house in Eastport was probably built in the late 1800s, and last updated in the 1970s, a charming house, graceful in its age and wearing its patina well. We've given it a new roof, new siding, and new thermal windows.
Dining Room Living Room Living Room
The interior is pretty much as we found it, 70s wallpaper and all! There is small formal dining room off the kitchen, and a huge, very comfortable living room.
Kitchen Kitchen
The kitchen is a large eat-in, county kitchen with plenty of counter space and enough room for an old, free-standing kitchen cubboard and a laundry center. We have it well stocked with all the cooking and dining gear you'll need.
Back Yard Study
The house has a study where you can get away and read quiety by yourself, or set up your computer. There is also a pantry where you'll find extra pots and storage for your staples. We bought the house in the winter and that lovely clematis growing on the back wall of the shed was a complete surprise to us when spring came!
In and Around Eastport
Eastport Fisherman Fishing Wharf Welcome to Eastport
Eastport itself is a small northern New England port situated on Moose Island in Downeast Maine. Although technically a city, Eastport has about the size and feel of a small maritime village. The downtown wharfs are home to local lobstermen and fishermen, as well as tour boats and ferries, small commercial shipping vessels, and private craft. The Fisherman Statue was erected for the filming of a movie. The local residents liked it so much, they kept it at their waterfront, even though it has one minor error. Can you spot the mistake?
Peavy Library Eastport Police Station US Post Office
Many of Eastport's Municipal Buildings date from the 1800s and are located on Water Street, Eastport's major downdown commercial street. Although the public library and US Post Office have been unchanged for decades, the Police Station is housed in what used to be a bank!
